SBC COMMUNICATIONS AND CEIVA LOGIC ANNOUNCE LICENSING AGREEMENT TO MARKET SBC-BRANDED DIGITAL PHOTO RECEIVERS

SAN ANTONIO, Texas and LOS ANGELES, Calif., June 1, 2005 – SBC Knowledge Ventures, a subsidiary of SBC Communications Inc. (NYSE:SBC), and CEIVA Logic, Inc. today announced a licensing agreement to market SBC-branded Digital Photo Receivers using CEIVA Logic’s patented technology.

Designed to resemble a traditional picture frame, the SBC-branded Digital Photo Receiver™ provides an easy-to-use and affordable means for broadband and dial-up Internet users to send and share digital photos with parents, grandparents and friends who do not own personal computers or have Internet access. The Digital Photo Receiver™ receives and displays photos taken with any digital camera or sent directly from a camera phone.

Every night, the Digital Photo Receiver™ silently dials in through your existing phone line to retrieve pictures sent from loved ones around the world. In the morning, a personal slide show is queued up and ready to display up to 30 new photos. The Digital Photo Receiver™ does not require a computer, expensive memory cards and cables, or complicated technology to operate. Just connect the phone cord, plug in the power, push one button and the user is ready to receive photos.
